Challenge Hunts

Welcome to the 2008 Challenge Hunts

LCRC organizes and holds challenge hunts which allow handlers and dogs to compete for bragging rights and trophies. The format of the hunts varies from a team of two gunners and two dogs to one gunner and one dog. The goal is to have the dog flush the planted birds and the gunner downing the birds with the fewest shots in the shortest amount of time.

The 2008 season is here. (and now the legal stuff) Your LCRC membership for the current year must be paid, and you must have a signed membership form on file, to qualify for the member rates. Non-members can enter the hunts, but they must sign a waiver form, and pay a $15 per person/per hunt non-member charge. All Challenge Hunt entry fees must be paid before you hunt.

January 12th & 13th - Full Choke Memorial Hunt
The Full Choke Memorial Hunt is a 2 person/2 dog event. Entry fees are $110.00 per team. 6 pheasants will be planted and your team has 20 minutes to bag all six with as few shots as possible. Please see the Rules. All hunts are in one division. Entries close 1-8-08

February 23rd & 24th - Chucker Mania
Chucker Mania is a 2 person/2 dog event. Entry fees are $130.00 per team. There will be 9 Chucker planted with a time limit of 20 minutes. Please see the Rules. All hunts are in one division. Entries close 2-05-08

March 15th & 16th - Top Gun Challenge
The Top Gun Challenge is a 1 person/1 dog event. Entry fees are $65.00. You will be shooting either 5 Chucker or 4 Pheasants with a 15 minute time limit. Please see the Rules.All hunts are in one division. Entries close 3-11-08
