Rules
Guidelines and Training Rules for LCRC members using R & J’s Rooster Ranch
The following guidelines and rules should be followed by all LCRC members when they are on the property of R & J’s Rooster Ranch; whether they are training on their own, or participating in a LCRC event. Items may have been omitted, but common sense should prevail.

  • LCRC members should sign in each day prior to using the training land. A sign-in book will be maintained in the LCRC mailbox near the entrance to the land. LCRC members do not need to check in at Randy and Julie’s house, and should not air there dogs around the house.
  • Park only in designated areas of the field. Stay on main roads if at all possible. During the early season or WET weather please stay on main road at ALL times. Do not block gravel road at any time. NO PARKING ON ELMORE AVENUE.
  • Ask to help other LCRC members in setting up and training. Show respect and consideration when others are running their dogs. Compliments are always welcomed.
  • No smoking is allowed in the field while working, training or running a dog. No alcoholic beverages are allowed in the field while working, training or running a dog.
  • Use of ATV’s is not permitted on the property, except on established roads or trails.
  • Help in taking down equipment and putting away. Assist other LCRC members, members of other training groups, and/or the landowner with clean-up chores before leaving (picking up decoys, picking up trash, closing gates, etc).
  • Remove all trash and litter (you brought it - you take it home).
  • Training aids and equipment can be used at all times. Blank training pistols, and shotguns with popper loads can be used. Live ammo (light loads) can be used, and live flyers can be shot (except in the SE corner). Per DNR regulations, steel shot is required when shooting ducks.
  • NO LIVE AMMO shooting allowed in SE Corner of 80 acre section. (See map that will be in the LCRC mailbox).
  • Live birds for training may be used. LCRC members can bring their own live birds, or you can purchase birds from R & J’s Rooster Ranch. You need to make advance arrangements for live birds with R & J’s (usually 5 days before the birds are needed). Birds may be ordered from Randy by phone at 507-744-2801, or by email at randy@rjsroosterranch.com.
